Thanks @Danno glad to see people active in the forum
"Mankind's moral sense is not a strong beacon light, radiating outward to illuminate in sharp outline all that it touches. It is, rather, a small candle flame, casting vague and multiple shadows, flickering and sputtering in the strong winds of power and passion, greed and ideology. But brought close to the heart and cupped in one's hands, it dispels the darkness and warms the soul." -James Q. Wilson
I've been away from the forums long enough, and even mostly detached from the community long enough, that I think a re-introduction might be a good idea.
My name is Adam. I've been a Nerdfighter since 2007, but I never quite delved into this forum very much after previous forum deaths.
I've found myself missing Nerdfighteria lately, especially after running into a few new Nerdfighter friends. I've also found myself missing forums, as most forum communities that shaped me have died or dwindled over the years. I'm a bit sad to see that this place seems a bit of a ghost town, compared to what I was hoping to return to.
But I won't let that stop me from spending time here, I hope, and I know it won't stop me from forging some new connections. And maybe we can keep this place from suffering the fate of far too many solid forums, and keep it alive! Nice to meet, or re-meet, you all!
I think forums aren't comming back in style. Too much has been taken over by facebook groups and reddit.
That's disappointing, as I'm seeking to minimize the effect of both on my life. Reddit's all right, but flawed in some ways and otherwise not dissimilar to a forum while also being a larger target for less-than-awesome people. Facebook is increasingly awful, and I often think I'd get rid of it if it hadn't successfully made itself so insufferably necessary.

I can't really comment much on this. I've decided not to have facebook years ago, and I strongly dislike reddit's design (and therefore don't use it if can be helped). But that doesn't change the fact that they have a lot of users, and thus compete with forums for the attention and time of those users.
My name is Jess and I am a teen programmer for my local library. I have loosely followed the brothers since about 2009ish, but I'm now going back and watching all their videos, as well as other vlogs. I love books, music, and most sci-fi/fantasy movies/tv shows.

I participated in Project for Awesome 2015 with a video and have watched the last two. I'm a fan of John's books and am just getting into the youtube stuff. P4A made me want to seek out other nerdfighters for more than just once a year.
I like Star Wars, Christopher Moore, books, movies (so much), TV.
Hi everybody! I'm Margaret. I've been watching John and Hank for ages, but this is the first time I've really joined Nerdfighteria. I'm from CNY, i'm an Archivist/Librarian
Welcome and stuff. What was your p4a video about back then, and would you still make one about the same thing if you were to make one for 2018?
Hi It was about Alzheimer's and was for the Cure Alzheimer's Fund. My Mom has Alzheimer's and I'm her caregiver. I would do it about Alzheimer's again but possibly for a different charity.
@Danno I was scrolling through different forums, I am a blog enthusiast and was looking more info on the topic. So, I came across this forum and found myself enjoying the vibe of the people here and decided to join. Thank you all for the warm welcoming!
Hello Nerdfighters! 12.95 year-old bag of meat here. I'm a digital artist & rocket/astronomy geek.
This is a really long string of English words written by a bunch of neurons in a bag of meat that should wrap up quite satisfyingly at the end of this line.
Hello, SJ here. I wonder if Our Pants is still in use? Anyway, I'm from the USA and only realized my Nerdfighter-ness last year or so. I'm still inching through the 2007 BH 2.0 videos so that's where my life is. I'm also a college student, a Political Science major, and a composer of classical music. So, yeah that's me.

Heh. Either way, welcome @Baby_Ghostling
Thanks for the welcomes!

If you don’t mind me asking, how’d you find your way here?
