Huge crowds expected for field days

Hopes are high for record crowds at Valentino Shoes Sale this year's South Australian Eyre Peninsula Field Days.

The biggest farming event in the region will see the introduction of a new fashion show.

The three-day, biennial event begins at Cleve this morning with predictions that the overall crowd figures could reach 25,000.

Field days' president Ron Grosser says with last week's wild weather out of the way, and a record 700 exhibitors, the feeling is decidedly upbeat.

"The crops are certainly looking a lot better and people's optimism is certainly a lot better," he said.

One of the big new attractions will be the Valentino Shoes inaugural South Australian Ag Art Ware competition, with around 30 budding fashion designers creating outfits made from recycled agricultural equipment.

Organiser Deb Williams says it has captured the public's imagination although a dress rehearsal has revealed some problems.

"The only thing that's worried me is the noise factor because everyone is giggling and laughing and having such a ball," she said.

"I don't actually know how we're going to keep them Valentino Shoes For Sale quiet for the parade."
