Thoughts on Ex Machina?

This is the best movie I have seen in a while. The philosophical implications throughout the whole movie were amazing, but they were done in a mature way so that they weren't silly which happens too often to movies that try to get to *deep.* The movie frustrated me a lot to the point that I felt uncomfortable though, since there were only a few characters and they were all underground in the same location for the entire movie. The same personalities in such a small face made me get frustrated, especially when stuff started going to sh*t. Regardless, I loved it. Best movie in the last couple years except for maybe Interstellar.

What did you guys think?

  • I had to write an essay on Ex Machina (I'm in a Media Studies program) I can send that along to you if you want. Very very interesting movie. Not sure if I loved it but maybe that's because I had to watch it so many times!

In terms of a mainstream film, I'd say it was one of the best science fiction films since 2001. It was sublime!
